The NSCF's major racing events kick off with the Goldstream Sports Tour de Ski Fairbanks and the first event in the 17th Annual Flint Hills Resources Town Race Series, the Fairbanks Youth Sports Season Opener on the weekend of November 16-17-18.

The Tour de Ski kicks off with a classic technique 2Km and 3Km Prologue stage on Friday night (16th) at 5:00PM.  Time bonuses will be awarded to the top male and female finishers.  The finish rank in these races will determine the start positions for the high school and adult skiers in Saturday's (17th) race, a classic technique, mass start 5Km (hs/adult women) and 7.5KM (hs/adult men).  That same day, elementary and junior high skiers will race over distances from 0.5Km to 2Km.  On Sunday's final stage of the Tour de Ski, there will be a free technique, pursuit start event, in which the first skier across the line is the winner.

The weekend will also serve as the annual Alaska Nordic Cup competition between the UAF and UAA ski teams.
