Globe Creek Road Race Doesn't Alter Results in Tour of Fairbanks 2013

E-mail Print PDF

The riders in the final stage of the 2013 Tour of Fairbanks bike race spent three hours going up and down long climbs and fighting crosswinds and headwinds Sunday, but all the effort did little to change the outcome of the overall rankings - at least at the top of the heap.  Tyson Flaharty (Goldstream Sports) and Sheryl Loan (Kaladi-Subway) easily held onto their overnight leads to emerge as the ToF champions. John Sindell (Pipsport/Chain Reaction) soloed off the front of the men's  open/expert field to take the stage victory by 34 seconds ahead of teammates Brian Bonney and James Stull.  Stefan Hajdukovich (4th-Raven Racing) and Tyson Flaharty (5th) were in the four-up sprint for second place.

Loan won by a huge three-and-a-half minute margin over teammate Jeni Winegarner and Alisabeth Thurston Hicks (ColoBikeLaw).

Text results, final GC rankings, and sprint rankings as well as KOM/QOM rankings are below.
